This watch face is a beautiful and practical tool for anyone interested in the phases of the moon, celestial events, and the eight Pagan festivals of the Wheel of the Year. It tracks them all automatically and presents them in an elegant, uncluttered design.
The upper part of the face shows the current phase of the moon from new, through waxing, to full, and back through waning. Below that is the time, and under that the date.
It also shows major celestial events: solar and lunar eclipses, meteor showers, supermoons and comets. When one falls on the current day, its name appears below the date.
The outer ring is the Wheel of the Year. An ornate arrow at the bottom of the face marks today's position, so you can see at a glance which festival is coming up. The wheel turns a little each day, updating at midnight.
Two naming schemes are included. The standard festival names are used by default, and you can switch to the OBOD names in the watch settings, which give the four solar festivals their Welsh names: Alban Eilir, Alban Hefin, Alban Elfed and Alban Arthan.
The face adjusts to the Southern Hemisphere automatically, using your watch's last known location to show the correct season for where you are.
The design is dark and gold, with oak leaves framing the central dial.
All the data is built into the face, so it works with no phone connection and no internet. Eclipse dates are taken from NASA's Five Millennium Canon.
Always-on display is supported. For the vívoactive 5.
Perfect for witches, druids, or anyone interested in Pagan traditions. I also make a selection of Pagan/Celtic watch faces, including Rhiannon and The Morrigan, and a beautiful four-phase face showing the life of the great Welsh bard Taliesin.
