This app sends your device's battery level to batteryalert.online as a background task: every hour, or as often as every 5 minutes if you choose. It usually travels through Garmin Connect on your phone. A device that's already connected to Wi-Fi or LTE can send that way instead, and when nothing is in reach it keeps up to 48 hours of readings and sends them later. The service checks each level and emails you when it drops below the level you choose, and again at each step down, so a forgotten charge never ends a run, a ride or a night's sleep tracking. It also emails you if the reports stop arriving. Set up: install the app and open it once. It shows an 8-digit code. Create an account at batteryalert.online and add the device with that code. Set your alert level and you're done. Needs an account at batteryalert.online and an email address. Reports go through a paired phone with Garmin Connect, or over Wi-Fi or LTE the device is already connected to (the app can't switch these on). Free during the beta; then a subscription after a 30-day free trial: AU$3.65 a year per account, covering up to 5 devices (about 1 cent a day), paid yearly on batteryalert.online, not in this store. Your device sends only its battery level, whether it's charging and when each reading was taken, its model, firmware and Connect IQ version, which wireless links it has, and the app's version; and, only if you turn on diagnostics on batteryalert.online, the app's own health counters. No activity, location or health data. You can see every message your device sent on your Devices page. See batteryalert.online/privacy. Made by Jeff Price, an independent developer in Brisbane.
