Beskrivning

GlobeClock tells the time with the Earth itself. The Earth, seen from above the North Pole, turns once a day like the real one. The sun stays fixed above the map and the night half of the Earth is dark: the line between day and night is computed for today's date, so you see the seasons change. Your position, marked by a red arrow, points to the hour on a 24-hour ring. How to read it: seen from above the pole the Earth turns counter-clockwise, so the hours run counter-clockwise too, with noon at the top under the sun, 18 on the left, midnight at the bottom and 6 on the right. The minute is the white dot on the outer track. Options (Connect IQ app on your phone): Time shown: clock time (your time zone, with summer time as set on the watch), clock time without summer time, or true solar time (the sun exactly at noon) Position: the watch's current position (the last one it knows, from an activity or the weather) or a fixed position you type in Pointer: an arrow or a line from your position, a hand from the pole, or just an index on the ring; red, orange, magenta, cyan or white; thin, normal or thick Battery friendly: the Earth turns a quarter of a degree a minute, so it is redrawn every 5 minutes and kept as an image; every minute only your position, the sun and the minute move. On AMOLED watches the always-on mode shows just the coastlines and your position, dimmed and moved every minute. Map: Natural Earth (public domain).
