FX Currency Converter is a fast, beautifully minimal currency converter for your Garmin watch. Built for travelers, expats, and anyone who deals with foreign currency on the move — works offline, syncs daily, looks sharp. FEATURES • 50 currencies — 43 major fiat (EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, JPY, CNY, AUD, CAD, NZD, SEK, NOK, DKK, PLN, CZK, HUF, RON, BGN, ISK, TRY, INR, KRW, SGD, HKD, MXN, BRL, ZAR, THB, IDR, MYR, PHP, ILS, AED, ARS, CLP, COP, EGP, MAD, PKR, RUB, SAR, TWD, UAH, VND) plus the top 7 cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH, XRP, ADA, SOL, TRX, DOGE). • Works offline — rates are cached on your watch with a 24-hour fresh window. Convert anywhere, anytime, no signal required. • Auto-updates — when your watch has connectivity via Garmin Connect Mobile, rates refresh in the background. Manual refresh is one tap in the menu. • Glance view — add FX Converter to your watch's glance loop to see your chosen pair's rate at a glance, without opening the app. Available on glance-capable models. • Sport / neon aesthetic — clean two-color theme (cyan for source, orange for result) with neon-green focus indicators. Designed for AMOLED, fully functional on MIP transflective screens. • Touch + buttons — fully usable with physical buttons on non-touch watches, full touch on AMOLED models. • Smart amount editor — pick each digit individually with cursor controls. Amounts up to 999,999 in any currency. • Live rate reference — see the 1:1 rate of the current pair at a glance. • Swap with one tap — instantly flip From and To currencies via the menu. RATE SOURCES Rates are fetched from a Cloudflare Worker we operate that aggregates three upstream sources: Frankfurter (European Central Bank's daily reference rates), Fawaz Ahmed's currency-api (CDN-hosted, broad fiat + crypto coverage), and CoinGecko (crypto-specific, current quotes). If our Worker is unreachable, the app falls back to the upstream sources directly and continues to work from local cache. PRIVACY The app sends three anonymous, non-identifying HTTP headers with each rates request: your watch's hardware part number (identifies model, not your individual watch), Connect IQ runtime version, and app version. We use these to see which Garmin models have the most users so we can prioritize future device support. No personal data is collected. Full policy at https://fx-rates.log2.xyz/privacy-policy REQUIREMENTS Requires Garmin Connect Mobile paired and running on your phone for the initial rate sync and periodic updates. After the first successful fetch, the app works offline indefinitely — your last known rates persist on the watch. v26.6.1 NEW: Glance view FX Converter now appears in your watch's glance carousel — swipe to it from the watch face to see your last currency pair and its rate at a glance, without opening the app. • Shows your last-used pair and amount (e.g. 100 USD → 92.39 EUR), in the same cyan/orange theme as the app. • Fully offline — reads your cached rates; shows a baseline rate even before the first sync. • Tap the glance to jump straight into the full converter. Also in this release: • Your last pair and amount are now saved instantly, so the glance always reflects your current selection. • Stability fixes around app startup. Glances are available on watches that support them (most modern AMOLED/MIP models). On older models the app works exactly as before. Questions or feedback: [email protected]
