Sapline tells you whether tomorrow is a sap day and what your sap will turn into. It reads the daily forecast from your phone and rates each day on the freeze-thaw pattern maple sap needs: a night below freezing followed by a thaw, with the best runs on nights of −7 to −2 °C and days of +4 to +10 °C. A birch mode follows the warmer days that birch sap needs instead. Log every collection with its volume and sugar reading and Sapline keeps the season: sap in storage, how old it is, the weighted Brix, and how much syrup it should make by the Rule of 86 from the University of Vermont's maple research, or the revised UVM version for refractometer-level accuracy. On boil day it computes the finishing temperature from today's air pressure (water's boiling point plus 7.1 °F for 66 °Bx syrup), tracks how much water is left to boil off and estimates when the pan reaches syrup. WHAT IT DOES - Sap-day forecast for up to seven days with a rating per day and the expected sap for your taps - Warns when the forecast shows no more frost, a sign the maple season is winding down - Collection log with volume and Brix, sap in storage, sap age and syrup yield per collection - Season totals: sap, weighted Brix, syrup potential, syrup made, runs and sap per tap per run - Rule of 86 calculator, classic or UVM revised, plus your own measured sap-to-syrup ratio - Boil-day finishing point from the barometer, or from your own thermometer reading in boiling water - Live evaporator progress: water left, boil-off rate, estimated time to syrup and estimated Brix in the pan - Maple and birch modes, °C or °F, liters or US gallons, 66 or 67 °Bx target - Five languages and a glance with tomorrow's sap day WHAT IT NEEDS - The forecast comes from Garmin Connect weather on your phone; on watches without weather you enter tomorrow's low and high yourself - A barometer makes the finishing temperature exact; without one Sapline uses altitude. A calibrated thermometer and a hydrometer or refractometer remain the final check - Sapline is a planning aid; always confirm syrup density with your own instruments
