A retro instrument panel cut into nine cells, with a large two-digit clock at its centre. The hour sits above the minute in big orange digits, one pair over the other, framed by thin white cuts that divide the whole dial. Both keep their leading zero, so the reading is always a two-digit block over a two-digit block. Time follows the watch's own 12/24-hour setting. Every cell around the clock is its own surface. Across the top, a teal weather card carries the current temperature with a sun, cloud or rain mark beside it, next to a black cell with the battery percentage. Down the left, your step count runs vertically along the cut. On the right, three stacked date cells show the month, the weekday and the day number, and under them the heart rate with a small heart in the clock's colour. Along the bottom: calories or a second time zone on the left, the day's distance in the middle, and an amber card with today's sunrise and sunset on the right. The black cells are forged carbon under a clear coat, lit from the upper left and darkening towards the rim. The teal weather card, the date cells and the sunrise card are brushed metal plates that stand off it with soft shadows, so every black cell reads as a shallow well, and the white cuts between them are polished ribs. Faint construction lines carry the edges of the date cells and the weather card across the carbon. Always-on is a separate frame on true black: the clock, the two main cuts as hairlines, and the three date cells with their colours dimmed. It is measured against the display brightness limit, so it stays lit instead of blanking after a few seconds. SETTINGS Instrument colour: ember, signal, lime or ice. Sets the clock digits, the heart and the sunrise card together. Date colour: paper, teal, lime, yellow, orange, red, ice or graphite. Sets the three date cells; the text on them always follows so it stays readable. Show second time zone: off by default, and the bottom-left cell shows calories. Switch it on to show a second time zone there instead, with its own label of up to four characters and an offset from UTC in minutes, so half-hour zones work. Temperature units: follow the watch, Celsius or Fahrenheit. Distance units: follow the watch, metric (km) or imperial (mi). Metric by default.
