SwellScout – Callantsoog is the first public version of the Surfclub Callantsoog surf forecast watch face, built for surfers at Callantsoog, the Netherlands. Get the local surf forecast directly on your Garmin watch. At a glance you can see the current surf condition, wave and wind information, the next good surf opportunity, expected conditions, tide level and a ±12 hour tide graph. The watch face includes configurable live data fields for heart rate, sea water temperature, watch temperature, surf height, wave period, wind force, tide height, significant wave height, windsea height and windsea period. AMOLED models use an optimized colour layout and offer additional display options, including configurable date formats and a clock with or without seconds. Layouts are adapted for the different Garmin display types and screen sizes supported by this release. Forecast data is refreshed approximately every 6 hours and cached on the watch. The watch stores enough forecast and tide information to continue showing useful data for approximately 12 hours without a phone connection. This means that while surfing, or whenever your phone is out of range, the watch face can still show the cached forecast and the current position in the tide graph. Once the watch reconnects, the data can be refreshed again. Surf conditions and forecasts are calculated by the Surfclub Callantsoog Condition Engine. SwellScout displays these calculated conditions and clearly indicates when forecast data is outdated or unavailable. This first release is specifically designed for the Callantsoog surf spot.
