Each numeral is bent wire glowing outward from the cathode, with the nine unlit cathodes visible behind it, exactly as inside a real tube. The neon colon between them pulses every second. Below the tubes, a working VU meter: a backlit scale from 0 to 100 with a red zone, and a needle that tracks your step goal, or Body Battery, stress, floors, intensity minutes or battery. Either side, four neon lamps light when your phone is connected, messages are waiting, an alarm is set or do-not-disturb is on. The date is engraved on a brass plaque above the tubes, and a second plaque below carries the reading of your choice: battery, heart rate, weather, sunset and more. Five tube colours (neon orange, magic-eye green, argon blue, violet and white) and three case finishes (brass, blackened steel and copper), chosen independently. The always-on mode keeps the numerals as thin wire, at 1% of pixels lit.

If the watch limits the face's power, the neon colon now stops pulsing instead of the face being switched off. This fix, from 1.0.1, was missing from 1.1.0.
