Beskrivelse

A thousand-step tracker for your Instinct. I already wear a watch that tells me the time, the date and everything else. On my Instinct I wanted exactly one thing: the answer to "Do I need to move more today?" For that question, only the thousands matter. Whether I'm at 6,120 or 6,870 steps changes nothing about what I do next. Going from 6 to 10 thousand does: it tells me to take the stairs, walk to the shop, or go out for one more loop. So this face shows your steps in thousands, as big as the screen allows. 15,400 steps is a huge 15 with a small .4 beside it. The thousands get the space because they drive the decision. The decimal is there only to show you're getting close to the next one. No "k", no icons, no clutter. Every glance at your wrist becomes a nudge. A 4 in the afternoon says "move". A 12 says "good day". Watching the big number tick over to the next thousand is surprisingly motivating, and that's the whole point: a tracker that pushes you to move more, not a watch face that tries to do everything. The small round window can show one extra value of your choice. Heart rate is the default. You can switch to battery, time, date, calories, distance, floors climbed, intensity minutes, step-goal percentage, notifications, Body Battery, stress or altitude, or leave it empty. FEATURES - Today's steps in thousands, drawn as large as the screen allows - Automatically fits wide numbers (28.8, 104.3) without touching the round window - Choose what the round window shows (13 options, or nothing) - Crisp, high-contrast digits designed for the Instinct's black-and-white screen - Follows your watch's 12/24h, km/mi and m/ft settings - No data collected, no account, no phone connection needed To choose the round-window field: Garmin Connect app → your device → Watch Faces (or Connect IQ Apps) → Big Step Tracker → Settings → "Round window shows". HOW IT WAS MADE - Coded with Claude. I designed this face and decided how it should look and behave. The code was written with Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, working with me step by step. I reviewed it, tested it in Garmin's simulator on the supported models, and run it on my own Instinct 2. - Font. The digits use Barlow Condensed Bold, Copyright 2017 The Barlow Project Authors (github.com/jpt/barlow), a free font under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (openfontlicense.org). It was converted into black-and-white bitmaps sized for the Instinct screens. The labels in the round window use the watch's built-in system font. - Free, no strings attached. No ads, no payment, no data collection. Permission note: "Sensor history" is used only to read your latest Body Battery and Stress values when you pick those for the round window. Nothing leaves the watch.
