Veida shows your hunting dogs on your wrist – straight from your Garmin handheld, with or without your phone. DOGS FROM THE HANDHELD Choose "Connect the dog tracker" in the Veida menu on the watch, turn on "Broadcast dog data" on your Alpha 100/200/300 or Astro handheld, and Veida receives every dog over ANT+: name, position, status (sitting, moving, on point, treed), low battery and lost signal. Distance and direction are calculated on the watch, so it works without a phone and without mobile coverage. Several dogs at once – each with its own row, pointer, track and alerts. FOUR VIEWS • List of all dogs with arrow, distance and status • A big arrow to one dog (navigate to it) • Compass with every dog around you as a pointer • Map with the dogs, their tracks and you (on watches with maps), or a radar on the others ALERTS Vibration, sound and a screen when a dog goes on point, trees, bays, loses signal, has low battery or goes farther away than a distance you choose. One alert when the handheld is out of reach – not one per dog. Pause alerts for a single dog. THE HUNT AS AN ACTIVITY Record the hunt as an activity (hunting with dogs where your watch supports it), with the number of dogs and the distance to the nearest dog as charts in Garmin Connect. The hunt summary shows time, your distance and how far each dog has walked. NAVIGATE Mark the car and places (where a dog stood), and navigate back to them. WITH A VEIDA ACCOUNT (veida.app) Connect the watch to Veida: the watch shows a six-digit code, and you type it in the Veida app on your phone (Menu, Connect your Garmin watch). The dogs from your handheld are then shared on your hunting team's map, and the watch shows the team's dogs, the stands with your own stand, the boundary of the hunting ground, drive lines and the other hunters. When the phone is out of reach, positions are kept on the watch and sent when it is back. REQUIREMENTS For the handheld dogs: a Garmin Alpha or Astro handheld with dog data broadcasting turned on. The handheld should not be paired as a sensor on the watch. A Veida account is only needed for the team features. Training/stimulation, collar light and rescue mode are only available on the handheld.

1.2.1 - The map fills the screen: the name and the hint are small labels, and the hint goes away after a few seconds. - Map buttons like Garmin's own maps: UP zooms in, DOWN zooms out (swipe on touch screens), START goes to the next dog and then to all, hold UP (or tap) to move the map. - Dogs from the dog tracker: no extra "Hund 1" on the team map, and a new dog on a slot no longer takes the name of the dog that was there before. - Several smaller fixes from a review of the app. 1.2.0 - Record a trip on the watch and it goes to Veida: into the hunting session you were on, otherwise to your own ground. - Safer connecting: the watch asks "Connect as …?" first. Disconnect from the watch menu or from the Veida app. - The map and the dogs use the same hunting ground as the session you are on. - The search for a dog tracker is off until you choose "Connect the dog tracker" in the menu, to save battery. Watches that already used one keep it on. - Touch screens: a tap opens the dog you tap, the menu at the top, and pan/zoom on the map. Hold your finger on the screen for the menu (Venu, Edge). - Dragging the map in pan/zoom mode no longer jumps back to the dog. - START on an alert switches the arrow that is already open instead of opening another one. - Dogs are not sent to the team map before their name has arrived from the dog tracker, and "Remove my dogs from the team map" now stays that way. - "Delete all" marked places asks first. 1.1.1 - Instinct 2/2S/2X and Instinct Crossover are no longer supported: the app ran out of memory on them. 1.1.0 - Connecting to Veida is easier: the watch now shows a six-digit code. Type it in the Veida app on your phone (Menu, Connect your Garmin watch). No typing on the watch. - The map opens zoomed in on your hunting ground (or your last known position) instead of the whole continent. - On touch screens, a tap on the map opens Garmin's pan and zoom mode; START toggles follow/all. - If the code cannot be fetched, the watch says why and START tries again.
