Readings can be inaccurate or delayed because of sensor noise, GPS errors, temperature, pressure changes, low battery or software faults. The audio signal may be too quiet to hear in wind. Paraglide Vario turns your Fenix 8 into a compact flight instrument for paragliding. MAIN SCREEN • Vertical speed (vario) as a big number with a side gauge: green in lift, red in strong sink • Barometric altitude • Altitude gained and lost during the flight • Distance flown and ground speed from GPS • Live glide ratio (L/D) while descending • Flight time, GPS quality and recording state TRACK SCREEN • North-up trace of your route, colored by lift and sink • Takeoff point, current position and a scale bar (This is a trace of your own flight, not a map with terrain.) STATS SCREEN • Max altitude, max climb, max sink, distance, distance from takeoff and average speed AUDIO VARIO • Climb beeps get faster and higher as lift increases • Low sink alarm in strong descent • Can be turned off in the menu • Sound is active only while recording RECORDING Every flight is saved as a FIT activity with a custom vario field, so it shows up in Garmin Connect with the GPS track and altitude profile. Garmin has no dedicated paragliding activity type, so flights are saved as Hang Gliding. CONTROLS • START: start or pause the flight • UP / DOWN: switch between main, track and stats screens • BACK or MENU: resume, save, discard, sound on/off SUPPORTED DEVICES Fenix 8 43mm, 47mm and 51mm (AMOLED), Fenix 8 Pro 47mm, Fenix 8 Solar 47mm and 51mm.
