Tai Chi Guide walks you through a tai chi form or a qigong set, one movement at a time, and keeps your breath on tempo — so you can practise without counting in your head or watching a video. GUIDED ROUTINES • Yang style 24 form — all 24 movements in order, with the traditional repeats (part the wild horse's mane three times, repulse the monkey four times...). • Ba Duan Jin — the eight pieces of brocade, with your own number of repetitions. • Standing (Zhan Zhuang) — quiet standing for a set length of time. • Free practice — no guidance at all, just the measurement. BREATHING THAT FOLLOWS THE MOVEMENT • A circle grows on the inhale and shrinks on the exhale, with an optional gentle buzz at every change. • Each movement knows which way its breath goes: you inhale as you open, rise or draw in, and exhale as you close, sink or press out. • One setting changes the tempo of the whole routine, from 3 to 10 seconds per half-breath. WHAT IT MEASURES • Breathing rate, taken from the beat-to-beat variation of your heart rate, measured during the session itself. • A coherence score: how steady and deep that heart-rate rhythm is. • How much of the session you actually spent on the guided tempo. • Heart rate, and movement smoothness from the accelerometer. AFTER THE SESSION A summary with time, average heart rate, breathing rate, coherence and smoothness. The session is saved as an activity that syncs to Garmin Connect, with your movements as laps. CONTROLS • START — begin, pause and resume • UP / DOWN — choose the routine • BACK — during practice: resume, save or discard • MENU (hold UP) — tempo, repetitions, standing time, vibration, activity recording Tai Chi Guide is a practice aid, not a medical device. It reports what the sensors measured and makes no health or therapeutic claims. It cannot tell abdominal from chest breathing — the breathing figures come from heart-rate variability, which is an indirect measure. Free to try for 1 days. After the trial the app shows an activation code: go to kzl.io/code, enter it and complete the one-time purchase. The app unlocks automatically within a minute, the next time your watch syncs. One purchase, no ads, no subscription.
