Descrizione

This data field displays the metabolic equivalent of an activity, METs, derived from power measurements from a cycling or rowing power meter. Therefore, this measurement will be faster responding to changes in physical exertion than heart rate derived METs. One MET is 1 kcal/kg/h which is approximately the calorie burn rate at rest. For more information on MET, see https://metscalculator.com/ Although VO2max measurement is more desirable for measuring cardiovascular fitness, Garmin watches only provide this for running and cycling. For people that do neither of these activities, METs is an alternative way to gauge cardiovascular fitness. You should be capable of exercise at a level of at least 5 METs for an independent lifestyle and a higher survival rate. Higher than 8 METs is more desirable because at 8 METs risk factor for death from major causes is reduced in half compared to at 5 METs. See https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa011858 The maximum METs recording feature is useful for this purpose. # Features * Display real-time measurement, average over the entire activity duration (indicated as Avg. MET), or current lap average MET (indicated as Lap MET) NOTE: You need to enter your estimated Metabolic efficiency in the settings, which is the percentage of whole-body metabolic energy expended that is actually converted to external mechanical work. This is usually between 20-25%. * Adjustable calibration scaling factor # Full Version Features * Saves MET data to the activity session record for graph display in the Garmin Connect app * Saves max & average MET over the activity duration and total MET·hr expended to the FIT file for display in the Garmin Connect app activity summary * Saves Lap MET values to the FIT file for display in the Garmin Connect app lap data * Option to display moving average MET over a custom defined duration (2-60 seconds) * Determines heart rate recovery at the end of the activity and saves this for viewing in Garmin Connect. To use this, enable the option to measure HR recovery in the settings before starting your activity. Press STOP as usual at the end of your exercise. Rest. At the end of the 2 minutes, the watch will vibrate, indicating that the heart rate recovery has been measured. Now save the activity. View the results in Garmin Connect. For example, a heart rate recovery value of 25 means that your heart rate dropped 25bpm after 2 minutes. This value should increase as your fitness level improves. # Payment For the FULL version, use this link to pay US$1.70 via Stripe (no account required; credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay accepted). https://buy.stripe.com/cNidRa2be5Ka2cD8aGf3d1b Alternative payment via Paypal: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/trudelta/1.70USD Important instructions: https://ko-fi.com/post/Payments-via-PayPal-Z8Z6AIK78 If you don't get a reply within 8 hours, see here for help: https://ko-fi.com/post/Common-causes-for-not-receiving-your-unlock-code-N4N8BUEGH # For the heart rate derived MET data field that is applicable across more activities and does not use a power meter, see: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/d487afae-e747-4cbc-ab3b-87f447a21234 # Related article: https://ko-fi.com/post/The-best-metric-for-measuring-your-activity-level-E1E2F46

Novità

So far I have found that use of this data field for running requires a scaling calibration setting. I have found that a scaling calibration factor of 0.65 gives good results. Set this setting in the data field settings. Or use my original MET data field for running: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/d487afae-e747-4cbc-ab3b-87f447a21234 Version 0.10.2 Added support for the Marq 3, Approach S72, Edge 1060 and Enduro 4. Version 0.10.1 Added support for Fenix 9 models. Version 0.10.0 Reduced memory footprint. FULL version only change: Option to display moving average MET over a custom defined duration (2-60 seconds). Version 0.8.0, 0.9.0 Revised calculation to better account for resting metabolic rate. Version 0.7.0 Added an adjustment calibration scaling factor. Corrected the minimum MET level.
