Then a small one-time unlock. --- WHAT MAKES THE FACE UNIQUE AND LOVED This face is built around a living history chart. It can look back across about nine months (or nine weeks if you want a tighter pulse). Six stories to choose from: run, bike, and walk distance, steps, active minutes, and active calories. Flip between week view and month view. Press and hold the chart band on the watch to cycle metrics - your phone settings remember. If one huge day flattens the rest of the bars, change the chart scale so past history and recent days stay honest next to each other. Right after install it only knows the short pocket of history Garmin still keeps on the watch (often about a week for steps-style metrics; distance can look a bit fuller). Keep the face selected and it quietly builds weeks and months forward while you train, commute, and sleep. Metric fields stay current while the face is on. The history chart and journal totals refresh on a quiet schedule, and right after you finish an activity when the face comes back. Switch away for a long stretch and logging pauses - your saved history stays, but new gaps can appear. We do not upload your chart journal to the cloud, and we will not take custody of moving it watch-to-watch. Around the clock: up to six fields (six on larger 454 screens, five on smaller ones). The top three stay single; Fields 4-6 are doubles, so you can park this week next to a longer total, or this month next to nine months. Live sensors sit next to week, month, 9-week, and 9-month windows for the same six chart metrics. Outer arcs show Body Battery, watch battery, Garmin goals, or your own personal target for distance, calories, or steps. Big readable time, your colors, quiet Always-On clock if you want it. See example setup with key features highlighted on the main image. --- GOOD TO KNOW Chart vs fields. Chart bars and side captions are typical-day averages. Field journal windows (week / month / 9W / 9M) add the period up as sums - so a short past bar and a larger field total can both be right. Bezel norms. Type a per-day target. Week and month “vs your norm %” arcs aim at the full week (×7) or full calendar month - not “percent of days so far.” Mid-week can look lower than your gut expects. Dense by design - long custom labels can sit close to a neighbor. Local history while the face is active. New watch or wipe = short Garmin window again. Switching to another watch face pauses tracking. Workouts and daily totals from that time can be missed in the history chart and in journal-based fields or arcs. What you already saved stays put.
