Description

Tidewell turns your watch face into a tide clock. One hand runs around the dial with high water at the top and low water at the bottom: on the right it counts down the hours to low tide, on the left the hours to high tide. Below the time sits the tide curve for the next 12 or 24 hours, with the times of high and low water and the height right now. It needs no API key, no account and no internet. You enter one high water you know from a tide table (date, time, height and the range that day) and the face works out the tide from there with the same harmonic maths tide tables are built on. Spring and neap come from the moon, so the band around the dial grows thicker at springs and thinner at neaps. If you have the harmonic constants for your harbour, you can enter those instead for a closer fit. Tidewell is a planning aid and not for navigation; always check the official tide table.
