Hunting Light shows legal shooting hours for your selected hunt, now including Texas deer (white-tailed deer by TPWD county group and zone, plus mule deer) and Texas spring and fall turkey by zone. More states and species are on the way. Hunting Light displays the shooting-hour schedule for a supported, selected hunt. It does not decide whether you may hunt or take an animal. Choose your state, species/season and an available bounded profile, then review and affirm every scope condition on the watch for today's hunt. Hours appear only when the selected profile, date, fresh GPS state check, clock/timezone and daily confirmation all match. Missing or uncertain evidence displays HOURS UNVERIFIED and removes the hours ring in both normal and always-on views. Some profiles show a conservative interval common to every listed region rather than the full local interval. Named hunt areas require checking the current official map and matching tag; GPS verifies state only. Missing table rows remain unverified, with no interpolation or GPS substitution. Profiles with no fixed legal clock restriction explicitly say NO CLOCK RESTRICTION and NO FIXED HOURS; they still require all eligibility evidence and daily review. The dial shows the selected day's verified hours, with STARTS IN, ENDS IN or HOURS CLOSED. There is no next-day legal countdown based on today's confirmation. Prime-time marks and traditional solunar periods are informational; animal activity is not guaranteed. Wind, temperature and conditions need Garmin Connect weather; readings older than three hours are hidden. Barometric pressure/trend, moon phase, accent colors and red night mode remain available. Always-on uses a dim layout with a moving clock and captions. Device-specific GPS and display behavior can vary. GPS, CLOCK AND OFFLINE LIMITS • A watch face cannot start GPS; a GPS activity may need to run so Garmin supplies a fix. A missing or stale (over 60 s) fix makes hours unverified. • The offline check verifies state interiors only, not land ownership, zones, refuges, WMAs or access permission. Moving over 500 m or changing scope voids the daily confirmation. • Location timezone/DST must match the watch clock, or hours are unverified. • Rules are bundled and expire without an app update. There is no live closure feed. Check official notices and regulations before every hunt. • Solar boundaries are rounded inward as a calculation margin, not an accuracy guarantee or a substitute for official tables. HOURS ARE ONLY ONE REQUIREMENT You are solely responsible for knowing and complying with all hunting laws and regulations. A displayed window is the configured profile's hours only. Check current season, species, method, license/tag, bag/possession limits, eligibility, land permission and applicable federal, state, tribal, local, refuge/WMA rules and closures. Affirming factual conditions cannot override missing or unsupported rules. SETTINGS AND PRIVACY Location use is optional and off by default. Enable it after reading the on-watch notice or the explicitly labeled phone setting. Turn it off to erase saved location and hunt confirmation.
