Description
Pump Smarter, Foil Longer.
Pumpfoilytics (formerly PumpfoilMate) is the first Garmin Connect IQ app built specifically for pumpfoiling. The Fusion detection algorithm automatically picks up successful and failed starts, pumps, flights, pauses and glides — no need to fiddle with the watch during your session.
Just go pump, and let the watch track every stat that matters.
And so you can read the one metric you actually care about between two pumps (e.g. heart rate), pick your Default Pump Screen in the Setup Wizard — it shows a single value full-size, readable even mid-pump.
The basics
• Auto-detection — The app picks up when you start a run and when you stall, so you ride without fiddling with the watch. One tuned detection, nothing to choose; manual override on the LAP button. A GPS outlier filter keeps phantom runs out.
• Fail tracking — A short attempt (under 8 s or 25 m) is logged as a Fail instead of a successful run, and your session hit rate shows up as a percent.
• Pump Laps only — Only your pump runs become laps. In between, the recording keeps going, so your heart rate counts as recovery.
On the watch
• 6 Pump screens — Five XL screens give the whole glass to one number: distance (the default), heart rate, pumps, time and speed. Plus Multi Iten: heart rate, distance, time and speed at a glance. A live HR-zone arc runs along the top edge: green up to zone 3, yellow for zone 4, red for zone 5.
• Recovery pages — One card for every pump run, plus four session overviews: totals, pumps, averages and time.
• 3-page Session Summary — Right after you save, scroll with UP/DOWN through Overview, your hit rate, and your peak numbers.
• Milestones — Ten milestones from 100 m up to 97.2 km (Pump Iten), celebrated on every pump lap, not just on session totals.
• Clear cues — One clear tone per event, and a vibration pattern strong enough to feel through a wetsuit.
After the session
• Garmin Connect charts — Pump / Glide / Recovery timeline, colour-coded second by second, plus all the numbers: run time, distance, hit rate, longest run, top speed (the steadier 5-second value), metres per pump, longest glide.
• Web companion — Scan the QR code on the welcome screen, or right after you save, and sign up at pumpfoilytics.com. Your rides, phases and stats in the browser, free.
• Foilsetup — Name up to three gear setups in Garmin Connect and every session carries the one you rode.
• HR and speed alerts — Buzz and tone when you cross your limit. 130–200 bpm in 5 bpm steps, 9–20 km/h.
• User Guide — updated: 9 short pages in Settings explain the app.
Compatible with fenix 7, 7X, 7 Pro, 8, epix, epix Pro, Forerunner 255, 265, 570, 965, Instinct 3, Venu 3, Vivoactive 5, Enduro 3, and other Connect IQ 5+ watches (67 devices total). On Instinct the app runs a slimmed build made for the smaller screen.

What is new
2.17
New milestones up to 97.2 km, Foil Time for honest averages, and metres per pump.
Best of:
• Ten new milestones from Pumper (100 m) to Pump Iten (97.2 km), with new badges.
• Foil Time (beta): the Garmin timer only runs while you are foiling.
• Metres per pump instead of efficiency, in Garmin Connect and on the watch.
• Pressing LAP twice now ends any lap, even one the watch detected by itself in Classic or Race.
Also new:
• Milestones for the distance of one pump lap in a row: Pumper (100 m), Pump Mate (500 m), Pump Master (1 km), Pump Genie (2.5 km), Pump Legend (5 km), Pump Titan (10 km), Pump HM (21.1 km), Pump Marathoni (42.2 km), Pump Gott (50 km) and Pump Iten (97.2 km). Some levels have a female form based on your Garmin profile, such as Pump Queen or Pump Göttin. New badges as medal or trophy, platinum from the half marathon. At the end of the session you see every badge you earned once more.
• Foil Time in Beta Settings: Off, Foil Time + Fails or Foil Time Only. The Garmin timer only runs during your runs, so time and averages in Garmin Connect show your foiling, not waiting and paddling. Foil Time Only records a run once it reaches 8 s and 25 m, then in one piece until it ends. In Manual, recording runs from LAP to 2x LAP. You can change the level during a recording; it applies from the next run.
• Metres per pump (m/pump) replaces the name "efficiency": in Garmin Connect as average and best value, on the watch in the summary.
• No Movement: if you stand almost still for 2 minutes in a lap you started with LAP or in Manual, the watch vibrates and offers to end it.
• GPS dropouts, for example under water: after 5 seconds without GPS the watch counts your speed as 0 instead of holding the last value. A lap no longer just keeps running because of that.
• Correct speed even on very fast rides: up to 40 km/h the watch shows everything, above that it only filters short GPS spikes.
• Voice Laps is out of beta and sits in Settings, now with 1 mi too. The watch splits your runs every 250 m, 500 m, 1 km or 1 mi, and the watch's voice prompts tell you time and pace. Off by default.
• XL screens: only the big watermark flashes, larger and bolder. XL Time now has the big pump foiler too. On XL Speed and Multi Iten it turns red from 17 km/h.
• Help texts look the same everywhere: at the bottom, small and orange.
• "Success" page: trophy, medal or wipeout figure sit dimmed between title and line, and "100 %" is easy to read.
• Stall alarm (Beta Settings) now from 7 to 25 km/h.
• Fix: if the last lap turns into a fail, it shows 0 pumps instead of the pumps of an earlier run.
Foil Time, Voice Laps, the XL screens and the help texts are not available on Instinct. There the milestones show as text, and long foil setup names end with "...". Your settings stay as they are.
Earlier versions:
• No accidental stops: START twice to stop, LAP twice for a lap pause.
• Foil setup picker with two example setups, more accurate pump count from the first second.
• Button indicators, pump screen Multi Iten and much better pump detection.
• Manual only counts from 10 km/h, no false pumps while walking or paddling.
• Chest strap check, XL screens with watermarks, clear tones and lap alert.
• Mega update for Instinct watches.
After every pumpfoil session, open Garmin Connect for pump distance, hit rate, metres per pump and recovery context.
Pumpfoilytics is the first Garmin app built specifically for pump foiling, whether you dock start, prone, or pump between wing runs.
