DESCRIPTION BigScreen is a ConnectIQ datafield for Garmin devices that implements many screens and many datafields in a highly configurable way. The goal is to make better use of the screen resolution, colors and processing power of modern Garmin devices while retaining the familiar grid layout. Essentially, it replaces the Garmin datafield user interface. This is one datafield to rule them all! VERSION 2.2 - This version improves stability for settings using a new settings database with migration code to map old settings into the new database. It is important to upgrade to preserve your existing settings. The migration code will be removed in some future version which will lose this compatibility. OLDER DEVICES - Older Garmin devices (specifically Edge 530, 830, 1030, 1030+ and older watches) consume significantly more memory for ConnectIQ applications. As BigScreen evolves it is becoming more difficult to support these older devices, and the risk increases that these devices will run out of memory leading to ConnectIQ application failure. Starting in version 2.0, memory-intensive datafields are removed on these older Garmin devices. This includes graphical datafields, course notes and lap delta. This frees up memory, improves stability and will make it easier to maintain BIgScreen across the range of devices. Install the BigScreen datafield using the ConnectIQ app, and add BigScreen to an activity profile. You can find BigScreen inside the list of ConnectIQ datafields. Ideally, install BigScreen on a new Garmin screen set up for just 1 Garmin datafield. BigScreen's settings can then be used to subdivide the Garmin screen into as many datafields as you want. There are an additional 9 clones of the BigScreen datafield available in the ConnectIQ store. These are called “Big Screen 1” through “Big Screen 9”. You can install multiple clones to get independent copies of BigScreen that have different settings. They can be installed on multiple Garmin data screens in an activity profile so that you can select between them using up/down buttons or scrolling on your device.
