Someone lives behind the glass of your watch – and he takes care of the time. Every time you raise your wrist, a keeper walks up behind the frosted glass of the dial, wipes the old minute hand away with his cloth and paints the new one on, stroke by stroke, from the centre to the tip. Then he steps back, and the clock is right again – until the next minute. A KEEPER BEHIND FROSTED GLASS The dial is a pane of frosted glass: the keeper's body stays a soft, misty silhouette behind it, and only what touches the glass is sharp – the cloth, the brush and the fresh black paint. He walks in and out, kneels for the low minutes, climbs his stool for the high ones, and now and then he carries in his own step-ladder, sets it up and climbs it to reach the top of the dial. JANITOR OR PIN-UP Choose who looks after your clock: • Janitor – a hard-working man in a cobalt-blue work suit • Pin-up – a lady in a white 1950s dress with her sponge and brush With soapy water switched on (pin-up only), foam gathers where her sponge touches the glass, a soapy clump slides slowly down the pane, the wet glass turns clear – and every few wakes she gives the glass in front of her face a wash, so you see her face sharp through it. HANDS OR DIGITAL • Hands – thick black brush-painted hands, wiped and repainted minute by minute • Digital – big painted digits: the keeper wipes the old minute digits off and paints the new ones THREE DATA FIELDS Three fields on the dial, each Off or one of 41 values: date, battery, battery days left, steps, step goal, heart rate, resting heart rate, Body Battery, stress, calories, intensity minutes, floors, distance, altitude, pressure, temperature, weather, high/low, sunrise, sunset, next calendar event, notifications, alarms, phone connection, recovery time, training status, VO2 max, Pulse Ox, respiration, sleep score, weekly run/bike distance, race predictor, week number, UTC time, solar intensity, tomorrow's forecast. Default: date, battery and notifications. MAKE IT YOURS Settings in the watch face's own menu on the watch and in the phone app: • Keeper – Janitor or Pin-up • Soapy water – on or off (Pin-up) • Display – Hands or Digital • Animation – every wake, only when the minute has changed, or off (a calm, still dial) • Data field 1, 2 and 3 12- or 24-hour time follows your watch. Menus in 36 languages. ALWAYS-ON When your arm is down only the time is shown, as plain dim digits on black, shifted a little every minute to protect the AMOLED screen. The keeper works only while the display is awake and stops the moment the watch dims it. PRIVACY The permissions are only used to show the data fields on the watch: complications (weather, calendar, sensor values), sensor history (Body Battery, stress, altitude, pressure) and your user profile (resting heart rate).
