Know when there's enough water to swim. NZ Swim Tides shows when the tide at your New Zealand port is at or above your minimum swimming height, today and for the next 10 days. On the watch: The glance shows "Swim now until 3:00pm" or your next swim window. The main screen shows the current or next window, the peak time and height, a 24-hour tide curve, and the following window if it's also today. Press DOWN for the next 10 days, one day at a time. A window that runs past midnight shows under both days, with its start time greyed on the second day. Pick your location in the app settings on your phone. There are 18 LINZ standard ports: Marsden Point, Auckland, Onehunga, Tauranga, Raglan, Gisborne, Port Taranaki, Napier, Wellington, Picton, Nelson, Tarakohe, Westport, Lyttelton, Timaru, Port Chalmers, Dunedin and Bluff. Birkenhead and Westhaven use Auckland. Min tide height for swimming: leave it at 0 to use the location's default (Auckland is 1.8 m). Any other number is metres above chart datum and applies to every location. It works offline. No phone connection, no location access, and no data collected. Auckland uses the official LINZ tide predictions to the end of 2029. Other ports use a model fitted to each port's LINZ predictions. In testing it was within 3 to 6 minutes of the official times for most ports, and about 10 minutes for Picton, where the tide is small and flat. Not for navigation.
