Short Description: Find your personal resonance frequency and practice daily HRV biofeedback with live phase synchrony and session graphs. Full Description: Peak Frequency is a precision breathwork and HRV biofeedback tool designed for endurance athletes, biohackers, and stress-regulation practitioners. Based on the gold-standard protocol developed by Dr. Paul Lehrer and physiological research by Hasuo et al. (2023) and Vaschillo et al. (2006), the app identifies your exact individual resonance frequency where heart rate and respiration lock into 0° phase synchrony. It provides a dedicated daily training mode to strengthen autonomic flexibility, baroreflex gain, and vagal tone. Unlike generic breath pacers that force you into arbitrary breathing rates, Peak Frequency empirically tests and calibrates your individual resonant cadence through a systematic 2-round assessment, then locks it into memory for structured daily biofeedback training. Two Dedicated Modes: 1. Resonance Test: A systematic 2-round assessment (coarse scan at ±0.25 BPM followed by fine-tuning at ±0.125 BPM) starting from an anatomical baseline derived from your height and biological sex. 2. Resonance Training: Daily paced breathing at your calibrated cadence with real-time biofeedback, customizable duration, and structured halfway breaks. Important Technique: Breathe Gently, Not Deeply Slow-paced breathing (5–6 breaths/min) should always feel comfortable and relaxing. It should never feel like an exhausting workout or cause dizziness. If a session feels strenuous, you are likely overbreathing by taking breaths that are too deep: • Normal Resting Volume: Use only your standard, resting tidal volume (about 10–15% of lung capacity). Do not fill or empty your lungs completely. • Quiet and Effortless: Inhale quietly through your nose into the abdomen. Let the exhalation release smoothly and passively through softly pursed lips without muscular pushing. • Continuous Flow: Maintain a smooth, circular breath. Avoid breath holds or pauses at the top and bottom. • If You Feel Dizzy or Lightheaded: This is a sign of blowing off too much CO2 (hyperventilation). Make your breaths shallower and softer. Do not try too hard. Comfort and ease are essential for resonance. Hardware & Setup: • Chest strap (Garmin HRM-Pro / Plus, Polar H10) recommended for highest millisecond RR precision. Optical HR fully supported with adaptive smoothing. Important Disclaimer (Not a Medical Device): This application is designed solely for fitness, breathwork training, and general informational / wellness reference purposes. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease, illness, or medical condition. It does not replace the advice of a medical professional. Always consult a qualified physician or healthcare provider regarding any health concerns or before starting any new breathing or exercise program.
