The panes are your Body Battery. Rested, every pane is lit; as the day spends your energy they go dark from the tips of the forewings down, the same on both sides, until only the glass by the body still glows. You read it at a glance. The time is set large in Quicksand, a soft rounded typeface. Under it the date, in your watch's own language, shares a line with battery and alerts, and three readings sit at the bottom: heart rate, steps and stress to start with. Five butterflies: a monarch's orange, a morpho's blue, rose, lilac and a swallowtail's citrine, each on a dark dial of a colour the wing is not. The wings can follow Body Battery, steps, stress, intensity minutes, floors or battery. On memory-in-pixel screens every butterfly is drawn for 64 colours; on AMOLED every pane is anti-aliased. The always-on mode keeps the wings' outline, the lit panes as fine outlines and the time.
