EuropeMaps brings simplified OpenStreetMap maps to your Garmin Instinct 3 Solar. Download an area to your watch, follow your GPS position and explore streets and paths with maps available offline. FEATURES • Download 2 × 2 km or 4 × 4 km areas. Start with 2 × 2 km for a smaller download. • Keep up to five downloaded areas and switch between them on the watch. One area is active at a time. • View your GPS position and recenter the map as you move. • Choose North up or Direction up. Direction up rotates the map with your heading and places your position lower on the screen to show more ahead. • Pan vertically and horizontally, zoom, and show or hide map names. • Optional Keep backlight on setting for easier viewing. This increases battery use and remains subject to the watch's brightness and power settings. SUPPORTED WATCHES Garmin Instinct 3 Solar, 45 mm and 50 mm. Garmin Instinct E, 40 mm and 45 mm. FIRST-TIME SETUP 1. Pair your watch with Garmin Connect on your phone and install EuropeMaps from the Connect IQ Store. 2. Open the EuropeMaps settings in the Connect IQ app on your phone. 3. Leave Map server set to Default. Leave Custom server URL and Private URL override empty for normal use. 4. In Location to Download (City, Street Name etc.), enter the location you want. Choose the download area size, then save and sync the settings to your watch. 5. Open EuropeMaps on the watch. A new saved location can start a download automatically. To start or retry it manually, hold MENU and choose Download location. 6. If a choice of locations appears, select the intended result. Keep EuropeMaps open on the watch, with your phone connected and Garmin Connect running, until the area is installed. DOWNLOAD AROUND YOUR POSITION Go outdoors with a clear view of the sky. Open MENU → Download around me and wait for a GPS fix. Your connected phone still needs internet access to download the map. USING THE MAP • UP/DOWN: zoom or pan in the selected mode. • GPS/START: cycle between zoom, vertical pan and horizontal pan. The screen shows the current mode. • BACK: return from panning to zoom; press again to exit. • Hold MENU for map options. • Recenter: return to your GPS position and resume following it. • Show map centre: return to the centre of the downloaded area. • Saved maps: select an area to use, view its details or delete it. • Orientation: switch between North up and Direction up. DOWNLOADS AND COVERAGE The app starts without a bundled map. Downloads require a paired phone with internet access and the map service to be available. Once installed, an area can be viewed offline; live positioning uses the watch's GPS. Maps are simplified for the watch's display and memory. Some streets, paths and names may be omitted, especially in dense areas. Downloads are subject to service availability and shared usage limits.
