Right after you install, the air quality reading shows two dashes. That is normal, not a fault. It usually fills in within about 30 minutes. Your watch needs your phone nearby with Garmin Connect, and it needs weather from your phone at least once, because that is how it knows roughly where you are. This is the complete Lumen face, free: a large thin clock with four readings you choose. Nothing is held back and there is no time limit. COMPLICATIONS Choose each of the four readings from the Connect IQ app on your phone: temperature, UV index, air quality, battery, Body Battery, heart rate, stress, sleep score (on watches that provide it), notifications, steps and calories. The lower two can also show the next sunrise or sunset. Or set a reading to None to leave it empty. Colors tell you how a reading is doing, not what it is. Green is good. Yellow, amber, coral and violet mean it is getting worse. UV AND AIR QUALITY UV comes from your watch's own weather data. Air quality comes from the internet: about every 30 minutes your watch sends your location, rounded to about 11 km, to an air quality service. Open-Meteo is the default and needs no account. You can use OpenWeatherMap, WAQI or IQAir instead with your own free key. Air quality only updates while a cell shows it. PRIVACY No account, no analytics, no tracking.
