Landing field reachability on your watch! Manual, licence and support: https://shop.cubio.no/gr GlideRange turns your Garmin watch into a glide calculator and landing-field awareness tool for sailplane pilots. From your position, your height and your glider's best glide ratio — corrected for the wind — it shows which of your landing options are within reach right now, each with its distance and the glide ratio it needs. The information that matters stays on your wrist even when the panel computer has switched to a thermal screen. YOUR OWN FIELDS Outlanding fields and airports are loaded from a .cup file with the free GlideRange uploader, so the app carries no built-in dataset to go stale and works in any country. How many sites fit depends on your watch's memory, and the uploader shows the limit for your model before you sync. IN FLIGHT Fields are ranked by the glide they need and carry a green badge when they are in reach. A per-site screen points a direction arrow at the field and gives its distance and required glide. A barometric variometer helps you climb away, and a wind screen sets the wind used in every glide figure. It buzzes when a field drops into or out of range, and a safety-margin setting keeps a height buffer in the calculation so "reachable" means reachable with something in hand. OFFLINE After the one-time sync of your field list, everything runs on the watch: no phone, no signal, no account in the air. REQUIREMENTS A phone running Garmin Connect with an internet connection for the first sync of your fields, and whenever you change the list. Nothing else. SAFETY A recreational aid, not a means of navigation or a guarantee of range. It knows only the fields you loaded and the glide ratio and wind you gave it; real air, real sink and real obstacles are yours to judge. Always fly with a landing option you have seen and chosen yourself. Install it free from the Connect IQ Store and fly it for 14 days before you decide. Entering the licence code once, online, ties it to this watch, and everything runs offline after that. No account, no subscription. WARNING: The app is intended only as an in-flight aid and should not be used as a primary information source. If the app contains a barometric altimeter, it will not function in a pressurized aircraft and should not be used in a pressurized aircraft.
