INFOCAL WIND 3 or 4 day wind forecast, right on your watch face Made for kitesurfers and windsurfers Knots, km/h or mph Free, no API key needed Infocal Wind is a free watch face based on Infocal by RyanDam. It keeps all of Infocal's features, layouts and complications, and adds: WIND FORECAST STRIP A row under the time with the wind forecast for the next 3 or 4 days. Per day: day label, an arrow pointing in the direction the wind blows to, and the highest average wind speed over 3 consecutive hours between 08:00 and 20:00. The arrow shows the average wind direction of those same 3 hours. The start and end hour can be changed in the settings. Choose the weather model: Best match, ECMWF IFS, GFS, ICON or GEM. The strip moves on to the next day at midnight. The strip replaces the lower bar complication and lower graph while it is switched on. If there is no data yet, the strip says why: no location, no phone connection, or loading. WIND IN KNOTS Wind unit setting for the wind complication and the forecast strip: km/h, mph or knots. Wind directions and complication labels in the watch language for Dutch and German (for example OZO, WOLKEN, ZON OP), unless "Force date to English" is on. MANUAL LOCATION Enter a latitude and longitude to use for the weather. Leave both empty to use the watch's location: its last known position, or the location of the Garmin weather from your phone. STRESS COMPLICATION New complication showing your current stress level (0-100), on watches that support it. ONE WEATHER SOURCE All weather comes from Open-Meteo: the current weather, today's high/low, the wind complication and the forecast strip. One source, one weather model, one request per update. No account or API key is needed for personal, non-commercial use. BATTERY One background update at a time. The current weather refreshes every 60 minutes by default (15, 30 or 90 can be chosen), and only when a weather complication is shown. The forecast refreshes at most every 3 hours or when you move more than about 10 km. No weather updates during your Garmin sleep hours (can be switched off); fresh data after waking. Failed updates back off to at most once every 30 minutes. SETUP In the Connect IQ app, open the watch face settings. Set "Wind forecast strip" to 3 or 4 days and choose your wind unit. Optional: enter a weather location (latitude/longitude), for example 52.37 and 4.89. Keep your phone connected. The first forecast can take up to 15 minutes to appear. API KEY You do not need an API key or account. Leave the "Open-Meteo API key" setting empty. Only if you already have your own Open-Meteo subscription (https://open-meteo.com/en/pricing): paste its key into that setting in the Connect IQ app and save. The watch face then uses your key. If the key is wrong, the strip shows "NO WEATHER DATA". Empty the field to go back to the free API. PRIVACY Your location is sent to Open-Meteo only to fetch the weather. Nothing else is collected.
