A Nixie tube holds ten wire digits, stacked one behind another in a glass bulb filled with neon. Give one digit a high voltage and it glows orange, which is how lab counters and early calculators once showed their numbers. Orbit Ion borrows that look and switches the glow to blue. Its Nixie-inspired digits sit in a mechanical panel with electric accents, surrounded by the weather, health, and watch data you use every day. A little high voltage for your wrist, minus the actual voltage. TRY BEFORE YOU BUY Orbit Ion Trial is a free, separate download. It runs for 3 days (72 hours from first use), with no automatic charge: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/8ccb38ec-4218-4a80-b050-36e0417e9bcf AT A GLANCE - Current temperature, daily high and low, and day/night condition icons. - Precipitation chance, UV, wind, and humidity. - Sunrise, sunset, and moon phase. - Battery level and notification count. THREE FIELDS, EIGHT CHOICES Three customizable lower fields show heart rate, resting heart rate, steps, Body Battery, stress, calories, floors, or active minutes. Hold a lower field to cycle its metric. MAKE IT YOURS Choose your colors and fields in the watch-face settings. - Three time styles, eight time colors, and eight accent colors. - Optional seconds and adjustable glow preference. - Hold the weather header to open Garmin Weather where supported. ALWAYS ON When the watch sleeps, the always-on display takes over: the Nixie digits as glowing wires inside dim tube outlines, with the date and battery. It is dimmed at bedtime, follows your watch's display settings, and moves a few pixels every minute to protect AMOLED screens. GOOD TO KNOW - Weather comes from Garmin's cached weather service and depends on available data and connectivity. Missing measurements show dashes. Current temperature is actual temperature, not feels-like. Health values depend on your watch and Garmin data availability. Moon phase is approximate. - Garmin's cached weather is checked every five minutes while the face is active. Automatic U.S. town lookup can fill in a missing weather-location name; it uses weather observation coordinates, which may differ from your exact location. A manual place-name override is available in phone settings. Compatible with select Garmin watches, including Venu, vívoactive, Forerunner, fēnix, epix, MARQ, Instinct, Descent, D2, and Approach models. See the supported-device list for exact models. Fix an issue that could leave the always-on display blank when the watch went to sleep. The face also returns to its normal view when the watch wakes.
