Descrizione

Most people who blow up in a long race did not train badly; they ate too little, too late, or too much of the wrong thing. Intake turns that into a plan you can actually follow: not grams per hour, but a gel at a certain minute and a mouthful at another. The carbohydrate side follows the usual sports nutrition guidance. Under three quarters of an hour you need nothing. Up to two and a half hours, thirty to sixty grams an hour. Beyond that, up to ninety, but only if you mix glucose and fructose, because glucose alone runs into its own gut transporter at about sixty grams an hour. Intake warns you exactly at that line. Above all of it sits your own ceiling: what your stomach is trained for beats what the table says. The fluid side estimates your sweat rate from effort, body mass, temperature and humidity, and gives back the share that is sensible to drink rather than all of it. Sodium follows from the sweat, scaled by how salty you sweat. Then it schedules. A gel every so many minutes, a mouthful every so many minutes, a vibration when one is due and another if you still have not ticked it off two minutes later. One tap says "done". The screen shows what you have taken against what you should have taken by now. WHAT IT DOES - Carbohydrates, fluid and sodium per hour, worked out for your race - A warning as soon as the plan passes what glucose alone can carry - Totals for the whole race in grams, millilitres, gels and bottles - A live countdown to the next gel and the next drink, with vibration - Carbs taken against carbs due, in red as soon as you fall behind - Temperature and humidity from the watch, or set by hand - How much the heat is adding to your drinking plan, in percent - Everything adjustable on the wrist: race time, effort, weight, gut ceiling, gel and sip size, and how salty you sweat - Glance showing the race clock - English, Dutch, German, French and Spanish WHAT IT NEEDS - Nothing but the watch. No phone, no account, no internet - Weather on the watch makes the heat part automatic; otherwise set the temperature - Practise the plan in training. A race is a bad place to find out what your stomach thinks

Novità

The start screen now says "1 gel" instead of "1 gels".
