WARNING: The app is intended only as an in-flight aid and should not be used as a primary information source. If the app contains a barometric altimeter, it will not function in a pressurized aircraft and should not be used in a pressurized aircraft. Ever looked out of a plane window and wondered where you are? Where Am I? was made for exactly that little bit of curiosity. Your watch's GPS and a built-in worldwide atlas show an approximate country, the nearest listed city, and your position on simple offline maps. Once installed, the watch app works without a phone or internet connection. WHAT YOU GET • A worldwide database of 7,342 cities and populated places. • An estimated country or territory and the nearest listed city. • Your distance and compass direction from that city, in kilometres. • World and regional maps with a position cross. • Latitude, longitude, GPS status and the age of your last fix. • The last completed location stays visible while a new fix or lookup is in progress, and is restored when you reopen the app. • GPS pause/resume and sample locations to explore the screens. HOW TO USE IT Open Where Am I? from the watch's app/activity list. Allow GPS on first use, then wait for a fix. UP/DOWN switches screens. START/GPS pauses or resumes GPS. Hold UP for the menu. BACK exits and stops GPS requests. Clear location deletes saved locations and GPS consent. GOOD TO KNOW Aircraft GPS reception varies. A window seat can help, but a fix is not guaranteed. The worldwide database does not include every settlement, and the nearest city may be across a border or an ocean. Borders and coastlines are simplified; coastal results may show Near [country] or Open water / coast. Maps have no streets or routing, and polar areas are distorted. There is no altimeter. This is a curiosity tool, not a navigation or emergency tool. English; distances in kilometres. PRIVACY GPS is opt-in. The watch app keeps location data locally and does not transmit it. No analytics or advertising. You can delete saved locations through Clear location. For help, use Contact Developer on this listing. Country names follow the bundled atlas with display overrides. Source boundary geometry is unchanged. THIRD-PARTY NOTICES Spleen bitmap fonts https://github.com/fcambus/spleen Bundled printable ASCII glyphs are converted to Garmin BMFont assets.
