This widget is a scientific calculator. It is the active version and some older devices previously supported have been discontinued to allow support for newer devices. For older devices, use the now called Calculator Legacy widget. Some key features: - It is designed to work the same way the calculator on MS Windows work. This means it will honor priorities (x and / have priority over + and -, ^ has priority over everything) - It computes with double precision even if it displays with only up to 7 digit after the dot (this means that doing 1/x twice should yield the same number back). Note that when using the constant Pi and E, it internally stores the full double precision number (better than what is displayed) for more accurate trigonometry results so it is recommended to use the Pi provided constant features if Radian computation are preferred. - It shows the stack of operator pending just under the number to give a sense where things stand with priority deferrals. The clear button ("C") successfully clears the stack. It can take several clear to reset everything. - It support full standard memory operations (M+ adds to the memory, M- subtract from the memory, MR recalls the memory and MC clears the memory). M is displayed when there is a number in memory. - Trigonometry functions can operate using degrees or radians. This is selected in the scientific screen. - It keeps the last 4 successful operations so you can go back and see what the computations were. It also displays the current computation (in blue) and if there is an error, it shows the computation that led to the error (in red).The current computation is useful for deep stacking or after using the clear function to remember where things stand. - The glance view shows the last result so one can go back to that last number quickly - The inv button allows to switch between functions and their inverse. It provide the generic X^y and ysqrt(X), which allows for any power and square roots, without going through painful exp() and ln(). - Conversion functionality and pre-loaded most used physical constants (use the settings to enable this screen) for more advanced users. The calculator can be controlled fully by touch or fully with the buttons, which is convenient when touch mode is disabled, or a combination. Touch control: - Swipe up or down will switch between standard, scientific, conversion or physical constants functionality - Swipe left will provide the history screen to see the last 4 successful computation plus the current one - Swipe right will return back when from the history screen or exit the widget when from one of the calculator screens unless the select button what pushed (see button control), in which case it will exit from the button based entry system. - tap digits or operators for entering the computation Button control: - Push up or down will switch between standard, scientific, conversion or physical constants functionality - Push Menu (holding a few seconds) will provide the history screen to see the last 4 successful computation plus the current one. - Push back will return back to prior screens - For entering numbers and operation, first push the start/stop button. A red circle will appear on the first number or operator. Use the up and down button to cycle through the numbers/operators. Push Start/Stop again to enter the number of operation. To exit form this mode (so that you can switch between standard/scientific or history screen) push the back button once (twice would exit the widget).
