Solstice turns your Garmin watch into a pocket guide to daylight and the Moon. See when the sun rises and sets, when golden hour begins, when the Moon comes up and how full it is, all for wherever you are. Everything is worked out right on your watch, so once it knows your location you don't need your phone or the internet. WHAT YOU GET • Overview: a 24-hour ring of night, twilight and daylight, with a countdown to the next sunrise, sunset or other event. • Compass: points to the Sun and the Moon so you know where to look. • Moon: today's phase as it looks from where you stand, plus the next full and new moon. • Moon Path: how high the Moon climbs through the day and night. • Glance: the next event, the Sun and Moon, or a timeline of today's light, one swipe from your watch face. MAKE IT YOURS Pick which of 31 Sun, Moon and season events you want to see. Save up to three favourite places, look up to a year ahead or back to plan a hike, trip or photo shoot, and choose your text size, colours, 12/24-hour time and units. GOOD TO KNOW • Your location comes from GPS, so open the app outdoors the first time. • If you haven't opened Solstice for about two weeks, the Glance will ask you to open it. • The first time you open Solstice, it works out the Sun and Moon for the days ahead so they're ready when you need them. On the watch this can take up to a minute. It can also take a moment after you travel somewhere new or choose Refresh data. Most of the time after that, it opens quickly.
