Pacer Standard is a Garmin race pacing data field for official pacers and runners targeting an exact finish time. It shows whether you are ahead or behind target and whether you are still inside the selected pacing standard. ◆ Green - within standard and on the preferred side of target ◆ Yellow - still within standard, but running slow ◆ Red - too slow and outside the standard ◆ Blue - too fast and outside the standard ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PACING STANDARDS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ▶ London Marathon +/-60 / +60 Before halfway: up to 60s behind = Yellow, 0-60s ahead = Green. Outside that range = Red/Blue. After halfway: behind = Red, 0-60s ahead = Green, over 60s ahead = Blue. Based on London pacing guidance and the finish performance of the London pace team that achieved the Guinness World Record for most accurate pacers in a marathon. Outside that range = Red/Blue. After halfway: behind = Red, 0-30s ahead = Green, over 30s ahead = Blue. ▶ NYRR +/-10 / +30 Before halfway: up to 10s behind = Yellow, 0-10s ahead = Green. Outside that range = Red/Blue. After halfway: behind = Red, 0-30s ahead = Green, over 30s ahead = Blue. This is the strictest event-based preset in Pacer Standard, reflecting NYRR’s very tight halfway tolerance and 1-30 second under-target finish requirement. The field records marker distance, marker time and ahead/behind position, giving the pacer a fixed course reference even if GPS drifts or they run long. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ DISPLAY ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Full-screen mode shows: Ahead/behind status Last official marker and pacing delta Current lap pace Current lap distance Elapsed race time A compact field is also available for your own Garmin data page. Pacer Standard is designed to answer one question quickly: Am I still inside the pacing standard? Pacer Standard is not affiliated with or endorsed by any race organiser. Event requirements may change, so always follow the current instructions supplied by your pace team manager. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ BUILT FOR PACERS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Designed for Garmin runners pacing marathons, half marathons, 10K and 5K events. Useful for official pacers, race pacers and runners targeting an exact finish time. Pacer Standard combines target finish time pacing, ahead/behind tracking, course marker correction and event-specific pacing standards in one Garmin data field. It is built to reduce the impact of GPS drift and help keep marathon and half marathon pacing accurate across the measured course. Includes presets inspired by London Marathon, NYRR, Sydney Marathon, parkrun and simple 0-30 / 0-60 fast pacing strategies.
