FoilMotion turns your Garmin watch into a dedicated foiling computer. Pick your sport, press start before you hit the water, and FoilMotion records everything that matters across pumpfoil, wingfoil, kitefoil, downwind, wake and surf foiling, then saves it as a rich activity you can explore in Garmin Connect. COMPANION APP: AVAILABLE FOR iPHONE AND ANDROID The FoilMotion app is available for iPhone and Android. Pair it with the watch app to get deeper session analysis: maps, runs, glides, maneuvers and split breakdowns, plus history and trends across all your sessions. WHAT IT TRACKS • Runs: automatic on-foil run detection, with run count, per-run distance and duration • Speed: live speed plus quality-checked top speed for each run and the whole session • Distance: total session distance and distance per run • Pumping: pump count, per-run pump rate and session averages • Glide: your longest glide per run and the distance it carried you • On-foil time: how long you actually spent up on the foil vs. off • Heart rate: average and max, including on-foil heart rate ENGINEERED, NOT GUESSED FoilMotion is built by a physicist and a software engineer: real engineering, not a quick mock-up. The run, speed, pump and glide detection runs on a sophisticated motion algorithm that's been validated against more than 500 real foiling sessions, and the same proven algorithm already powers FoilMotion on other smartwatches. We tested FoilMotion against every other foiling app we could find, and we're proud to say it delivers the most accurate results. Measurements you can actually trust, session after session. BUILT FOR FOILING • Activity-specific screens tuned for pumpfoil, wind sports and downwind • Clean, glanceable layouts you can read mid-session • Distance and speed units in metric, imperial or nautical, your choice EXTRA METRICS IN GARMIN CONNECT Every session is saved as a full FIT activity. Alongside the standard charts and summary, FoilMotion writes extra fields (pump count, pump rate, number of pumps per run, glide and on-foil time) into the lap (run) data. Here's how to find them: • Garmin Connect on the web: open the activity, scroll down to the Laps table, and scroll the table sideways (to the right) to reveal the FoilMotion columns such as Pump Count, Pump Rate and Run Pumps. • Garmin Connect mobile app: open the activity and rotate your phone to landscape. The extra FoilMotion columns only appear in the Laps table in landscape mode; in portrait they're hidden. Each run is its own lap, so you can compare pumps, pump rate, glide and speed run by run. Works on a wide range of Garmin watches. Pick your sport, press start, and go ride.
