Binario BCD tells the time like a circuit board: four columns of LEDs, one for each digit of HH:MM, in binary-coded decimal. It takes ten seconds to learn to read, and the decimal digits are right underneath when you're in a hurry. HOW TO READ IT • Each column is one digit. From the bottom up, the LEDs are worth 1, 2, 4 and 8. • Add up the lit LEDs: 4 + 1 = 5. • From left to right: tens of hours, hours, tens of minutes, minutes. ALWAYS-ON (AMOLED) In always-on mode only the LEDs and the small time stay lit, drawn as thin outlines that shift a few pixels every minute to protect the screen. Only about 2% of the pixels are lit. SETTINGS (in Garmin Connect) • Accent color: Turquoise, White, Amber, Red, Green, Violet, Electric pink, Blue • Show digital time • Show decimal labels • Time format: System setting, 24 h, 12 h • Bottom-left data: Heart rate, Body Battery, Floors, Calories • Blink colon every second NOTES AND LIMITS • Works on round watches and on the square-screen Venu Sq 2 and Venu X1, with a layout designed for their rectangular display. • On MIP screens (such as the fēnix 7 Pro) the colors come from the watch's 64-color palette, so they look slightly different than on AMOLED, and there is no dimmed always-on mode: the full face stays visible. • Body Battery and floors show "--" on watches that don't measure them. • In 12 h format the matrix shows 1–12 and the small digital time adds AM/PM. • Not available for the Instinct Crossover AMOLED: its physical hands would cover the matrix. • No internet access and no data collected: everything stays on your watch.
