Altitude shows your height above sea level. One screen, one number, nothing else. The app is completely free. Support the project: https://paypal.me/OvApps Why it exists: your watch already knows how high you are, but finding it outside an activity is hard. On Venu and vívoactive no built-in screen displays altitude at all; on other models the number is buried inside an activity, and you have to start a run to read it. How it works: • Barometric altimeter first. Instant, works indoors, no satellites needed. • No barometer? The app switches GPS on and shows the satellite altitude, labelled "GPS". Step outside; a fix can take up to a minute, and accuracy is roughly ±10–20 m. • If the sensor stays silent, the app falls back to the sensor history and tells you how old the reading is. • Metres or feet follows your watch's own units setting. Nothing to configure. GPS is only switched on when there is no barometer to read. On a fēnix, epix or Instinct the satellites are never touched, so the app costs no extra battery.
