QR Codes – your QR codes and barcodes on your wrist Built for the Garmin Instinct 3 Solar (45 mm and 50 mm). The layout is designed around the Instinct 3 screen: every code is sized to fill as much of the display as possible while staying clear of the round subscreen window and the screen's corners. WHAT IT DOES Keep up to 5 codes on your watch and show them in seconds – no phone needed at the checkout, gym or door. • QR codes – Wi-Fi logins, tickets, links, contact details, membership QR codes. Up to 134 characters. • Code 128 barcodes – most loyalty, membership, gym and library cards. Up to about 20 digits or 10 letters. • EAN-13 / UPC-A barcodes – supermarket and retail loyalty cards. Enter the 13 or 12 digits printed under the bars; the check digit is verified for you. HOW TO USE 1. In the Connect IQ app on your phone, open QR Codes - Settings and fill in a label, a code type and the content for each code. 2. On the watch, open QR Codes from the glance list or the apps list. 3. Press UP / DOWN to switch between codes. The subscreen shows which code you're on (e.g. 2/5). 4. Hold UP (MENU) to change the code type of the code on screen: QR code, Code 128 or EAN-13 / UPC-A. DESIGNED FOR THE WATCH • Codes are generated on the watch itself and work completely offline. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere. • Each QR code is generated once and saved, so it appears instantly next time. • The backlight goes to full brightness for the first 10 seconds a code is shown, so it scans in any light. (Set the watch's backlight timeout to 10 seconds or more to get the full 10 seconds.) • The app closes itself after 60 seconds without a button press, so a forgotten code doesn't keep the screen busy. • A glance shows how many codes you have set up. Open the app from the glance to return there when it closes. • No sensors, no GPS, no background activity – negligible battery use. TIPS • Shorter content gives bigger, easier-to-scan codes. Prefer short URLs. • Hold the scanner or phone close and steady, especially for barcodes. If a place accepts both, a QR code scans more easily than a barcode. Compatibility: Garmin Instinct 3 Solar (45 mm and 50 mm). Not available for the Instinct 3 AMOLED models.
