SETTINGS ON THE WATCH Hold UP, pick Watch Face, select Caliber, press START, then Customize. The menu is drawn in the style of the dial: your Goal log, a short How it works guide, the dial colour with a live preview, what each of the three dials shows, your active calories goal, and switches for the seconds hand, the dial sweep and the always-on brightness. The same settings are in Garmin Connect if you prefer the phone. A DRESS WATCH THAT KNOWS YOUR DAY Sunray dial, applied baton indices, a minute track, a date window, faceted dauphine hands with a soft shadow and a seconds hand with a counterweight. Three recessed sub-dials show your goals for the day: the hand and the arc tell how far along you are, the number shows the value. THE THREE DIALS Each dial can show one of six things: Steps, against the step goal set on your watch. Active calories, against a goal you set (200 to 1500 kcal). Intensity minutes this week, against your weekly goal. Floors climbed, against your floors goal. Body Battery. Watch battery. By default: steps on the left, active calories on the right, intensity minutes at the bottom. ACTIVE CALORIES Your watch counts total calories. Caliber shows the active part: the total minus the resting calories your body has used since midnight, estimated from the weight, height, age and sex in your watch profile. It is an estimate and can differ a little from the number in Garmin Connect. If the profile or the calorie count is missing, the dial shows -- rather than a made-up number. MOVEMENT The seconds hand ticks, and when you raise your wrist the three dials sweep up to their values. Both can be switched off in the menu. GOAL LOG A full day is a day where every goal dial on the face reaches its goal. The Goal log shows your full days, your current and best streak, the last seven days, today's three values and your best day of active calories. On watches with a touchscreen, press and hold the dial to see the exact numbers: value and goal for each dial, full days and streak. Hold again to hide them. Nothing leaves the watch. FIVE DIAL COLOURS Navy, Forest, Burgundy, Graphite and Teal. All of them are yours from the start. ALWAYS-ON A separate always-on design on a black screen: ring indices, outlined hands and the date.
