Requires a LURE module. LURE is the watch side of a small light worn on your glasses or cap. Without the module the app still paces you on the watch, but the light is the point. Set a goal, a distance and a finish time, and start running. LURE works out the pace the goal asks for, compares it with the pace you are actually running, and tells the light what to show: • Green: on pace. Hold this. • Red: too slow. A quick fade as you edge off pace; solid when you are clearly behind. • Blue: too fast. The same, the other way. The light changes only when your pace does, so a glance, or no glance at all, is enough. The watch buzzes once each time the colour changes, harder the further off pace you are, and stays quiet otherwise. How it judges your pace: the number on the watch is the average pace of the kilometre you are in, with its first stretch smoothed so it never blanks at a kilometre mark. The pace you need is worked out again every 100 m from your finish goal: fall behind in one kilometre and the rest of the run asks a little more of you, instead of that kilometre being written off. On the watch: • Distance, Finish time, Ready, then START. Distances from 1 to 15 km, 10 miles, half marathon and marathon. • While running: this kilometre's pace against the pace you need, distance and time, and the kilometre filling as you go. • Records a normal run to Garmin Connect. • Desk test (hold MENU before a run): set the pace by hand to see the light and feel the buzz indoors, without recording anything. In the Connect IQ app on your phone: goal distance and finish time, the feedback mode, day and night brightness for the light (LURE blends between them with the sun's height, so it is bright enough at noon and gentle after dark), and whether the wrist buzzes. Requirements and limitations: • A LURE module. The app finds and connects to it over Bluetooth by itself; hold MENU and choose Forget module to pick a different one. • GPS during a run, for distance and for the sun's height. • On AMOLED watches (Forerunner 265 and 965, fēnix 8, fēnix 8 Pro) LURE uses a full-colour design; on the others, a simpler high-contrast screen.
