The time takes the whole screen. Two rows of digits, half a screen tall each, and that turns out to be enough: the time reads mid-run, in the dark, without your glasses, out of the corner of your eye. The hours are ivory, the minutes are the accent you chose. The contrast is what keeps you from reading one as the other at a glance. ALSO ON SCREEN — The date above, in English or Russian — Three values below: heart rate, steps and watch battery — 12 or 24 hours, with an AM/PM marker in 12-hour mode — Fixed digit cells, so nothing shifts when the minute changes — Always-on leaves the outlined time and nothing else WHEN THERE IS NO DATA, IT SAYS SO Heart rate, steps and battery are read on every update. If there is no current heart rate, the watch falls back to the most recent reading — but only if it is less than five seconds old. Failing that the field shows --, not a guess.
