Popis
Peakflow Downhill
Pick a ski area and race the longest run there as a giant slalom.
• 451 real runs from the Alps, the longest piste in each ski area
• Austria 138, Italy 104, Switzerland 97, France 87, Germany 21, Slovenia 4
• Length, steepness and rhythm come from the real piste data. The Sarenne in Alpe d'Huez drops 1,415 metres, the smallest in the catalogue drops 300
• Red and blue gates like a real giant slalom. A missed gate costs two seconds, brushing a pole is allowed
• Below the tree line trees block your way, above it rocks. Which one you get is decided by the real altitude of the piste. Plus spectators and a finish stadium
• A leaderboard per run: see how you compare with everyone else on exactly this piste
• The full leaderboard online: peak-flow.app/downhill – sortable by run and by country. The address is on the watch too, as soon as you cross the line
• Three lanes: left, centre, right. Lower left button = one lane left, START = one lane right, tap on touch watches. Upper left button = tuck: a second and a half crouched, faster, but no lane change
• Gates sit in one lane, you have to pass through. Trees and rocks block lanes, you have to get out of the way. A gate is always reachable, even at full speed near the bottom
• Spot the gaps and tuck through them to be faster. Every lane change costs a little speed
• Your best time rides along as a ghost: gap shown live in the header, split time at the middle gate
• Jumps on steep sections: no lane change in the air, tuck for a longer flight. Golden bonus gates in the awkward lane take half a second off
• Run of the day: one run for everyone each day with its own daily leaderboard
• No account, no sign-up, free
• Real curves taken from the piste geometry, plus snow cannon, piste basher, a skier crossing your line and ice patches
• Gates with a proper panel and a bright band across it, above them a dusk sky with two mountain ranges, a lit snow crest and stars. Watches with only 64 colours keep the previous sky – there the gradient would turn blotchy
The list of runs stays on the watch, so you can play at the lift without a signal. If there is no ski area nearby, a practice slope is waiting.
For the leaderboard the watch sends your time, your name (settings in the Connect IQ app) and a device id. Nothing else. Without a name your time is saved but not shown on the leaderboard. You can switch the leaderboard off entirely.
Only for watches with a fast screen: AMOLED from 2022 onwards plus fenix 7 and 8.
