The face of a haunted church clock, seen close at midnight. The time is read from two long black iron hands with pierced spade tips, standing out as silhouettes against the lit glass behind them. They step the way a tower clock does: the minute hand moves once a minute, never in between, and the hour hand moves with it. A thin red second hand sweeps over them. Twelve Roman numerals are carved into a ring of weathered stone blocks, with moss and cracks in the stone and moonlight falling across it from the upper left. Inside it an iron chapter ring carries a stud for every minute, and in the middle the clock's glass glows amber from the belfry behind it, cracked and dusty, with the iron tracery of the dial showing through. Two readings sit on the glass in the same amber, each with a black shadow: heart rate at 9 and the weekday and date at 3. While the watch is awake, bats cross in front of the glass and a spider hanging from XII lowers itself on its thread as the minute goes by. Always-on goes dark: the outlines of the stone ring and the glass, with the hands and the date dimmed. It is kept well within the display brightness limit, so it stays lit instead of blanking after a few seconds. SETTINGS Second hand: on or off. Never shown in always-on. Bats and spider: on or off. Off leaves the dial still. The date comes from the watch.
