Hangboard is a fingerboard training timer for climbers. Three ready-to-go protocols, clear cues at every phase, and a clean FIT export into Garmin Connect.
**Protocols**
- **Repeaters 7/3** — 6 reps of 7 s hang / 3 s rest × 3 sets (180 s set rest). The classic finger-flexor endurance workout.
- **Max Hangs** — 5 sets of a single 10 s max hang, 180 s rest. For pure strength work.
- **Density Hangs** — 3, 5, or 10-minute blocks of 10 s on / 5 s off. Continuous volume work.
**During a session**
- Big arm's-length countdown that stays readable mid-effort.
- Distinct haptic + audio cues for every phase (count-in, hang, rest, end of set).
- Heart rate captured continuously.
- Long-press START to pause / resume. BACK to exit with confirmation.
- Ticking warning during the last 3 seconds of every phase.
**After the session**
- Activity automatically titled "Hangboard" in Garmin Connect (sport: indoor climbing).
- Custom fields shown in the summary: hang count, total hang time, set count.
- One lap per set — so Connect's Splits view shows reps and hang time block by block.
- Local history of recent sessions, browsable from inside the app.
**Languages** — English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese.
**Permissions** — Sensor (heart rate), FIT / FitContributor (activity export), Notifications, Background. No data leaves the watch except through the FIT file synced via Garmin Connect.

What's new in 1.2.2
- Make a built-in workout your own. On the Repeaters 7/3 or Max Hangs screen, hold UP (or hold the screen on touchscreen watches) to open it as a custom workout, already filled in. Adjust hang time, reps, sets or rests, then save.
- Stopped a workout early? The summary now offers to customize it, so you can turn it into a version you'll finish. Press START (or tap the screen), then choose Customize.
- Once saved, your new workout opens ready to go: just press START.
- Added Fenix9 support
Fixes
- Custom workout editor: the hang time, reps and sets pickers no longer open one above the current value (confirming without scrolling used to add one).
- The session summary's duration no longer keeps counting after the workout has ended.
