Know exactly how much light is left on the trail. Daylight Left is a watch face for hikers, backpackers, trail runners and backcountry skiers. A big, glanceable countdown tells you how long until sunset and then how long until dark, so you can decide at a glance whether to push for the summit, turn around, or make camp. THE COUNTDOWN • Before sunset: "3h 25m until sunset". • After sunset: counts down to your chosen definition of dark. • After dark: "light in 8h 35m" counts down to first light. • Choose what "dark" means: sunset, civil dusk (sun 6° below the horizon, the default), nautical dusk (12°) or astronomical dusk (18°). TWILIGHT AT A GLANCE • Tonight's sunset and the moment it gets dark, in big, easy-to-read type. After dark they flip to first light and sunrise. • A 24-hour daylight dial around the edge: day, civil, nautical and astronomical twilight bands, a marker for the current time and a tick at your dark threshold. • Handles high latitudes honestly: midnight sun, polar night, and summer nights when astronomical dark never arrives. EVERYTHING ELSE YOU NEED • Time and date, heart rate, altitude and battery. • 12- or 24-hour time, five accent colors. • Red night mode: an all-red palette to protect night vision. Always on, or automatic after dark. Touch and hold the face to flip it for the moment. • Large text throughout: every label and number is sized for a quick glance on the move. • Battery-friendly always-on display: a dim, minimal clock and countdown that shifts every minute to protect AMOLED screens. PRIVATE AND OFFLINE All sun and twilight times are calculated on the watch with the NOAA solar equations. The face uses the last location your watch already knows; it never turns on GPS and never sends your location anywhere. If your watch has no location yet, the face shows NEED LOCATION: start any GPS activity once (a walk or hike is fine) and the position is remembered. IMPORTANT Times are astronomical estimates for a flat, clear horizon. Terrain, valleys, weather, smoke and forest canopy make it darker earlier than the clock says. Daylight Left is a planning aid, not a safety device: carry a headlamp, know your route and turn around early.
