Before boarding, press START and confirm ON GROUND while actually on the ground. BreakOff records the session as a Garmin activity and tracks climb, freefall and canopy phases using barometric pressure. A confirmed ground baseline lets the watch show relative altitude. If no ground baseline is available, a fresh pressure reading is labelled with its pressure-altitude datum instead of being presented as height above the dropzone. Choose RECORD ONLY if you cannot confirm ground. Missing or uncertain phase evidence stays visible. After landing, review and save the activity. Sync it to Garmin Connect, export its original FIT file, and import it with the + button in BreakOff 2.0 or later on iPhone. With a qualified ground datum and sufficient jump evidence, preview the recording as a new jump or associate it with an existing jump, with confirmation before the logbook changes. Record-only sessions with no qualified datum remain raw activity evidence in the import Inbox; they do not automatically become jump candidates. Log the jump manually when an automatic candidate cannot be established. The original FIT recording retains the watch’s recorded GPS, altitude and heart-rate samples where available, alongside BreakOff phase evidence. GPS and Garmin fused altitude are recorded for later review; live phase tracking in this version uses pressure. Missing sensor readings are not invented. The Garmin recorder is free and has no paid features. The BreakOff iPhone Free plan includes a basic logbook showing your ten most recent saved jumps. Importing and saving Garmin FIT jumps in the iPhone app requires a paid BreakOff Logbook or Pro plan. Full jump analysis requires Pro and sufficient recorded evidence. Import is a manual Garmin Connect → original FIT → iPhone workflow in this version. BreakOff is a tracker and logbook, not a certified altimeter, audible altimeter or safety device. Use your normal certified instruments and procedures.
