Opis
A data field that can help runners time their run walk periods while completing Garmin Coach training plans. A label and background color indicates if you're in a Run or Walk period. Device will vibrate in the seconds leading up to the transition and loudly beep to signal the last second. Set up the custom running and walking periods via on device settings or through your mobile phone in the Connect IQ Store phone app.
Note: This datafield only works when the activity profile is being used with a workout that has a Run segment that is currently in progress otherwise the label and countdown show "--". The alerts will not time when in a warm up or cool down portion. It will also not alert while in a generic running activity to avoid colliding with the Garmin run/walk alerts.
I created this field to help me complete the Jeff Galloway training plan while training for a 5k. Hopefully this can help others fill the gap where the Garmin Run/Walk alerts won't work during workouts.
FAQ/Setup:
Setup the datafield: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=gyywAozBuAAGlvfzvR9VZ8
Once the datafield is in an activity profile you can set up the periods via on device settings in the menu system or edit on your phone using: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=SPo0TFvhQO04O36Y5TYRh5.
If you reset the periods while the activity is running it'll take effect after the current Run/Walk cycle.
Primarily tested on my FR970, if you experience issues let me know your device and use case and I'll look into it!
