On a walk, today's step goal leads: how far you are, how far to go, and a ring round the screen that turns to a rainbow when you get there. Under it, this walk's steps, time, distance, pace, heart rate with its zone, and steps per minute. On a run, Paces switches itself to a runner's screen: time and distance magnified, pace and heart rate in your zone's colour, calories, and the zone. No setting to change; the tag at the top says which it is. Setup, once: on the watch, open Walk (or Run), then Settings › Data Screens, add a screen with one field, and pick Paces from Connect IQ. Add it to each activity you want it in. Then in the Garmin Connect IQ app, open Device › My Data Fields › WISPWARE – Paces › Settings › Unlock (Pro) and copy your Unlock code: 8 characters, letters and numbers (for example 1234ABCD). It is not your Garmin Unit ID, which is 10 digits. 2) Go to the checkout link above, paste the code, pay CA$2.88. 3) Your Licence key appears on the page immediately. Copy it and save it. A copy is also emailed to you as a backup, so check your inbox (and your spam folder) if you close the page too soon. 4) Back in that same Unlock (Pro) screen, paste it into Licence key, click Back, then Save.
