Rootline turns your watch face into a shell session. A prompt with your own user name and your watch model types a command the moment you raise your wrist, then the output appears line by line: heart rate, steps, Body Battery, battery, pressure, weather, sun and moon, each as a short labelled row with a two-hour sparkline behind it. Up to eight rows per page and a second page that scrolls up after four seconds, or with a touch and hold. You choose every row, its label, its color and a low/high threshold that turns the row amber or red. Three fonts in three sizes, ten themes, and the footer says EXIT 0 until something needs you: EXIT 1 batt‹20, EXIT 2 no-phone, or STEP DONE. WHAT IT DOES - 53 fields: steps with goal % and ETA, distance, floors, calories (total and active), intensity minutes, heart rate, resting HR, Body Battery, stress, Pulse Ox, respiration, sleep score, recovery time, training status, VO2 max, race predictor 5K/10K/half/marathon, weekly run/bike distance, altitude, pressure with 3-hour trend arrow, temperature, weather (conditions, rain chance, wind, feels like, high/low, humidity, UV), sunrise/sunset/next sun event, ASCII moon phase, moonrise/moonset, second time zone, notifications, alarms, phone, do not disturb, next calendar event, countdown to a date, uptime since last charge and a daily fortune line - Own battery estimate: a linear fit over the last six hours of discharge gives "df: 4d 6h left" - Step goal ETA from your last hour of steps ("eta 18:40", or "idle") - Sparklines from the watch's sensor history, refreshed every five minutes, not every frame - Body Battery keeps the last known value instead of showing "not found" - Big time with seconds, date with ISO week number and day of the year, 12/24 h and units follow the system unless you choose otherwise - Touch and hold a row to open the matching system widget (API 4.2 devices) - Always-on: dimmed prompt, time and two rows, shifted every minute against burn-in; on MIP watches the full face stays on with seconds - Settings on the watch (Customize) and in the Connect app - Free, no key, no trial WHAT IT NEEDS - A Garmin watch from the supported list (fēnix 6/7/8/9, epix, Forerunner 165/255/265/570/955/965/970, Venu 2/3/4/X1/Sq 2, vívoactive 4/5/6, Instinct 3 AMOLED and more) - Weather fields need a connected phone; some fields (sleep score, race predictor, training status, calendar) only exist on newer watches - Fonts: Terminus Font (SIL OFL 1.1), PxPlus IBM VGA 8x16 from The Ultimate Oldschool PC Font Pack by VileR (CC BY-SA 4.0), JetBrains Mono (SIL OFL 1.1)
