Noon sits at the top, midnight at the bottom. Around the dial you see daylight, civil, nautical and astronomical twilight and night, calculated for your location and updated every day. The sun moves along its path in real time, so one glance tells you how much light is left. WHAT YOU SEE • Daylight, the three twilight phases and night as coloured sections of the day • The sun on its path, with markers for solar noon and nadir (can be hidden) • Next sunrise or sunset, or the next change of light with a countdown such as "Golden hour in 1 h 21 min" • Polar day and polar night are shown correctly, and the dial works in both hemispheres HIGHLY CUSTOMIZABLE • Time: digital or analogue, with numerals or ticks, in the 12 or 24 hour format of your watch • Colour themes: Dynamic, Monochrome, Afterglow and Polar • Time circle: moves opposite the sun or stays fixed in the centre • Line below the digital time: seconds, sun phase, any single data field, or nothing • Up to four complications, arranged in a line or a circle • Status icons for phone disconnected, notifications, alarm and do not disturb (can be switched off) 20 DATA FIELDS Moon phase, next sunrise or sunset, day length, day length compared with yesterday, UV index, weather with a condition icon, barometric pressure, altitude, solar intensity, heart rate, Body Battery, stress, steps, distance, calories, floors climbed, weekly intensity minutes, activity rings, battery and notifications. Units follow your watch settings (km or mi, m or ft, hPa or inHg). Availability depends on the sensors of your watch. DESIGNED FOR EACH DISPLAY AMOLED: choose between two skies. Sectors radiate from the centre, Horizon paints bands that follow the altitude of the sun. The optional glass look adds soft twilight transitions and a glass time circle. A reduced always on view is included. Colour MIP: the day runs as a light band around the rim, with a clean black centre for time and data. A horizon line and the golden hour can be switched on. Instinct: a light band follows the whole edge of the display, with its own pattern for each twilight phase. Large time in a bold or 7 segment font, two data fields of your choice, white on black or black on white, and band marks every 30 minutes, every hour or every 3 hours. The subscreen shows the next change, the sun arc, sunrise and sunset, sun altitude, daylight left, the moon or one of 18 data fields. TOUCH AND HOLD On touch watches, hold the time circle to see the day length. Hold the ring to step through sunrise, solar noon, sunset and the twilight times with a preview of the sun's position. Hold a complication to open the matching Garmin view. LOCATION Solaris does not switch on GPS. It uses the last known position of your watch, for example from a GPS activity or from synced Garmin weather. Until a position is available the ring stays grey and the watch face shows "NO GPS". Start any outdoor activity once and wait for a GPS fix to solve this. SETTINGS All options are set in the Garmin Connect or Connect IQ app on your phone.
