Quick Guide: https://www.forumslader-companion.de/assets/Forumslader-Companion%20Quick%20Guide%20EN.pdf Functions: - Up to 4 display fields, freely chosen from all available metrics - Available display values include Trip Energy, Temperature, Dynamo Power, Generator Gear, Distance/Odometer, Battery Current, Electrical Load, Speed, Battery Level, Day/Tour Distance, Consumed Energy, and BLE Diagnostics - 4 fixed FIT recording fields, each individually switchable: Battery Level, Electrical Load, Dynamo Power, Temperature - Operating Mode: show all values, change by tap, change automatically, or toggle the Forumslader USB output by tap - Tap modes are available on touchscreen devices only - Battery/charge icon in the data field - BLE diagnostics: D (disconnects), E (checksum errors), B (bytes/s) - Battery estimate by Coulomb Count or voltage model - Optional alerts (low battery, short circuit, system interrupt) - Optional auto trip reset when activity recording starts Lock to Device: When enabled, the app reconnects only to the previously paired Forumslader. Connectivity: Automatic scan/connect is built in. After disconnect, the app prefers reconnect first and then falls back to active rescan with backoff. Compatibility: Forumslader V5 (with BLE) and V6 are supported. Important: Forumslader V6 requires firmware 07/31/26 or newer! https://www.forumslader.de/fw-flv6-latest v2.5.1 (September 2026) This version fixes activity lifecycle detection. - Fixed: Paused or stopped activities are no longer incorrectly treated as ended; an activity ends only when Garmin reports the "OFF" state v2.5.0 (September 2026) This version merges the display and tap settings into a single Operating Mode and adds support for new Garmin devices. - New: "Operating Mode" setting replaces the former "Scroll Fields", "Rotate Fields" and "Tap Toggles USB" switches - choose between "Show All Values", "Change by Tap", "Change Automatically" or "Tap Toggles USB"; existing settings are migrated automatically - Improved: USB feedback now also reports a failed switch command as "USB [FAILED]" and correctly evaluates all Forumslader V6 output states - Improved: The app version is shown correctly in Garmin Connect immediately after an update - Changed: Simplified on-device Options menu v2.4.6 (August 2026) This version simplifies the app by removing two rarely used features, reducing complexity and memory usage. - Removed: Automatic wheel circumference calibration ("Calibrate" setting); set the wheel circumference manually instead - Removed: "Estimated Range" display field v2.4.5 (August 2026) This version adds a new tap gesture on touchscreen devices to directly toggle the Forumslader's USB output from the data field. - New: "Tap Toggles USB" setting - tapping the data field toggles the Forumslader USB output on/off instead of cycling the display fields (touch devices only); a brief "USB [ON]" or "USB [OFF]" confirmation appears in the field v2.4.4 (August 2026) This version improves field switching on devices without a touchscreen: previously, the single-field display got stuck on one field there, since tap-to-cycle isn't possible on those devices. - New: "Rotate Fields" setting automatically switches the single-field display to the next configured field once per second - available on all devices, including touchscreen ones - Changed: "Scroll Fields" (manual tap-to-cycle) is now only shown on devices with a touchscreen v2.4.0 (July 2026) This version simplifies FIT recording: instead of freely assigning any metric to 4 recording fields, FIT logging now covers a fixed set of 4 key metrics, each individually switchable on or off. - Changed: FIT recording fields are now fixed to Battery Level, Load, Dynamo Power, and Temperature - each can be switched on/off independently - Simplified: no more field selection lists for FIT recording, just simple on/off toggles v2.2.9 (July 2026) This version brings two improvements: a new automatic wheel circumference calibration feature and more stable BLE connectivity. - New: Automatic wheel circumference calibration - enable "Calibrate" in the Forumslader menu once, then ride at least 20 km (~ 13 mi) without stopping; the Forumslader is automatically updated with a more accurate wheel circumference - Improved BLE connection stability: more robust automatic reconnection after connection drops v2.2.6 (July 2026) This version brings numerous improvements and enhancements to the Forumslader Garmin data field project, focusing on user experience, feature set, and configuration flexibility. Key changes include expanded display/recording field options, improved default settings, and new features such as automatic trip reset. Feature and Settings Enhancements: - Additional display/recording fields: consumption, range, BLE diagnostics - New "Auto Trip Reset" option that automatically resets the Forumslader's daily trip counter (km) when an activity is started on the Garmin - Choice between a large single-field display, switchable by tapping, and a compact multi-field display - Colored live icon for battery capacity and charging state, always visible - Forumslader's daily and tour distance counters (km) can be reset via the Garmin IQ menu - Forumslader parameters wheel circumference and
