No phone connection or weather download needed. Made for the Instinct 2, 2S, 2X, 3 Solar and E (40/45 mm) and the Descent G1, where the time left to the next high or low tide sits in the round window. It also runs on round fenix, epix, Enduro, tactix, quatix, Forerunner, MARQ, Descent, Venu and vivoactive watches, with memory-in-pixel or AMOLED screens. The text is in English on every watch language. - The tide line: the next 21 hours (and the last 3) as a tide curve, with a mark at now, hour labels, and a rule under it that is solid while the sun is up and dotted at night. - Your spot: type any high tide time from a tide table for your spot into the High tide setting. The face follows the moon from there: every later high and low water comes from the moon's passage over the meridian, shifted with the half-monthly cycle of springs and neaps. The curve is taller at springs and lower at neaps. - The next tides: the next two high or low waters under the line, and the time left to the next one in the window. Round watches add today's sunrise and sunset at the bottom. Accuracy: on ports with two similar tides a day the times are usually within 20 minutes of the official tables and on some days up to an hour (measured over a year on seven ports in the US and Korea). It does not suit places with one tide a day or with very unequal tides (much of the US West Coast, the Gulf of Mexico, parts of Southeast Asia). After travelling to another spot, type a high tide time from that spot's table. For navigation, use official tide tables. Customize it in the Connect IQ app. The tide line, the high tide setting, the dot-matrix time and the colours (black on white or white on black on memory-in-pixel screens, the time colour on AMOLED) are free. These are marked with a star in the settings and can be used during a 7-day trial, then stay unlocked for good with a one-time purchase ($3.99) at murmurgram.gumroad.com/l/tideline: enter the 12-character Watch face ID from the settings at checkout, and type the key you receive by email into Unlock key. - Time font: five more styles for the time besides the dot matrix: condensed, segment, stencil, outline and geometric. - Solunar periods: major periods (the moon overhead or underfoot, two hours) as filled bars and minor periods (moonrise and moonset, one hour) as outlined bars under the line, with a 1 to 4 day rating from the moon's phase and periods that meet sunrise or sunset. - Tide range: how big today's tides are, as HI, MID or LO in the bottom row. The range is large at springs (around new and full moon) and small at neaps (around the quarter moons). A + means it is growing toward springs, a - that it is shrinking toward neaps, and no sign means today is the day it turns. - Legal shooting light: the line shows the hours from a set number of minutes before sunrise to after sunset (30 by default), and the window the time left to the next start or end. - The highlight: the next tide, the solunar rating, the pressure trend over three hours, the moon, or the watch battery. On AMOLED watches the face is black, with the tide line in sea blue and the time in a colour of your choice. The text is smooth, and the dot-matrix time is drawn as round LEDs. The always-on display shows the same face at a third of the brightness, with the tide curve filled and the legal light outlined. Solunar periods, sun times and legal light use the watch's last GPS position (any activity with GPS records one). Tides need no position. Privacy: everything is computed and kept on the watch. Nothing is sent anywhere. If you buy the unlock, Gumroad handles the payment and your email address is used only to send your key and for support. Permissions are used for the position (sun and moon times) and sensor history (pressure).
